Not quite as long as I thought

Ok, so I didn't go quite as long as I thought, but I still went a long time. When I last posted Patrick was not even one yet, he is now 19 months and well he is going to be a big brother and Jacob a big big brother :). In between the boy's birthdays, the same week we found out Alex is promoting to Major we also found out that we are expecting our third child. Like the other two this one was only in God's timing, which is the best timing we have come to realize even with the first two 6 years apart. God def knows what is best. In June we found out that God also made me to be the mom of boys, being the sports nut that I am and the fact that I have a 7 year old jock and a 19 month old who hoots and hollars when he sees baseball or football on tv and loves to throw balls around the house (even ones that shouldn't be) it seems to fit :) Still would love my little girl, but my girly girl side prob wouldn't be passed down anyway. My brother did have a girl, they found out they were having a girl that same week. She was born this past Aug. Saddly, he missed her birth by three weeks because he got deployed to Iraq again. He should be home in Jan according to my sister-in-law. I can't wait til he is back on American soil.

The pregnancy has been pretty ineventful, I was very tired the first trimester so Jacob was homeschooled from bed a lot, that house exploded, and did not really get unpacked for a while, it was really bad. But I think I made up for it in the third, I have been cleaning, organizing and decorating like a mad woman, and I am loving it. Alex says it is my ocd ;-) I almost have the boy's bathroom decorated and organized like I would love to have a whole house!! Out bath and room is next. I know we will move before I get it all done, but am enjoying the process, just hope to get the boys' rooms done too.

Over the summer we decided to give the local school a chance. Jacob is happy there, but is also bored. They do have gifted programs, but it is combined with language arts, which is his weak subject. So he is stuck doing 2nd grade math again. I am trying to supplement him with Saxon 3 at home. We we behind in it, but I figure we have holidays and what not to catch up and even the summer, since it is on our time. he is actually bored with that too since it is in the review part. So sometimes I feel bad that we are behind, i want to get to where he can be challanged and sometimes wonder if we should be doing Saxon 4. We got his report card yesterday and he had all As and 2 Bs (reading and laguage development). I have also signed him up for explode the code, it is a homeschool language arts program. We knew he wasn't as strong in that area, and he enjoys it, it is all online and after an hour of work he gets "fun" time to games. He did take a placement test just before school started and got 99% in math (we were not surprised) and 85% in language arts (we were surprised, we though he was weaker than that).

Jacob is still doing gymnastics, his first meet is in about a month. He is very excited. he is also playing soccer right now, and even though he is one of the youngest on his team, he is one of the players that they want the ball to go to (I told you I had a jock).

Two of Jacob's other activities are Scouts and Sunday School. I stepped up to be his den leader and am actually really enjoying it, though he is the msost hyper there, am told that is standard when mom is in charge. He is also working towards his First Communion this coming May. I just found a church less than a mile from our house. We live in an older neighborhood and the churches are back in the neighborhood. It is kind of nice to be so close.

Patrick is an independant little ocd child of mine :) He loves to "make" his oatmeal every morning and has to be carried to put his bowl in the sink, if he could reach he would walk there on his own. He is also a total mama's boy, he loves his daddy, loves seeing pics of him and playing with him, but hates for mommy to leave. We are worried about how he will handle his new little brother. One, me being gone and two him having to share me. he has gotten a little better about letting me touch Alex or Jacob. He does not want to share me with anyone.

Back in August he had to have minor surgery, he did fine, though he was extra crabby and clingy that day which can be expected. He has all of his teeth now, though some are just coming through, am glad to be done with that part, though in about 6 months the whole process will start over with little brother.

Speaking of little brother. he is due 3 nov. He was breach for a bit, so I got to have an extra ultra sound (my boys must get their love of having their pics taken from me ;-) ). He seems to have centered himself, but no real contractions yet. I figured he would be coming this week (38) and he still may, but my mom arrives Thurs afternoon and she was there for the first two, so would really like it if she could be there for him too. We shall see what his and God's timing is. The familly needs to finish getting better. This past week my fam all came down with the flu. I may have been starting to get it, but once one was diagnosed I went on tamiflu to be safe since it is more dangerous for expectant moms. I did wake we an ear infection Thurs though. had had one two weeks before and they put me on amoxacilian, which just like panacilian does not work with me. Am on the z-pack now and other than my ears clogging easily i felt better quite quickly. I have never had an ear infection before these ones (I think it was the same one, just subdued for some time), wow do they hurt!! I told my mom I just want an epidural in my ear. baby wise I feel fine and other than wanting to hold my little man (who looks just like his brother from his ulatra sound) I feel perfectly fine.

Well, I guess that is it for now, will try and do better on updating and have seen people who post projects of the week, so hope to do that too. My list this week if not in the hospital is to put button holes in the shower curtain I made for the boy's bathroom. make a window valance. complete Patrick's last monkey artwork for their bathroom. And maybe make robert's boppy pillow. Also need to finish the album I am making for my brother and work on some stockings for my mom. those I can actually do in the hospital, maybe I should pack them in my suit case ;-)

Oh and in case you are wondering, the baby's name will be Robert Allen, after our dad's, it is their middle names.

So, as usual it has been FOREVER since I have updated. Am hoping to do more. Right now am restless and can't sleep even though I am VERY tired. I hope to post weekly updates on the fam and show my current projects :) No promises though.

We have our things

Well, our things arrived yesterday and I have attempted to begin to unpack. School, Patrick, and just life have not let me do it as much as I would like. Some other homeschool moms mentioned taking the week off, but I just can't, at least not right now and we do have Mon off (I take federal holidays off!! just like my hubby). Patrick has just been clingy, I think it has to do with the fact that he was at a babysitter's house yesterday, and then was only home for about 30 min when he went with daddy and Jacob to gymnastics and then i went to a meeting. So, it was very had to do anything today when he was awake, hopefully tomorrow will be an easier day. He has gotten to the only wanting mommy stage in a lot of ways. And well, I had my meeting last night, Jacob had bowling today, and then I had a function tonight. We have nothing tomorrow other than school, so will focus on that and unpacking, then Fri we do have a Valentine party, but that is it til next Tues at 6 when Jacob has gymnastics. I would like to do some more painting too, get the kitchen done, so we shall see. Maybe a little of both here and there over the weekend :) Well, I better get to work. I have taken some pics of the boys and kitties with the stuff being here, so will try to post those pics soon.

Hi from a stranger

Ok, so I haven't update here much. I am bad about that. But we have moved, we are now in LA. Let's see, since I last blogged I turned 28 and tomorrow I will be 6 months from turning 29, ick, almost 30!! I cannot be that old, I just graduated hs ;-), oh wait I had my ten year last summer. Oh well, i can try. Anyway!! My husband turned 32, ok, i feel better now ;-) My son started 1st grade on the same day and my grandfather passed away two weeks later. So, Patrick and i flew back to WA. My brother had the same second leg as us, so that was nice. I was sad that Grandpa died, but relieved that we got to see him and he got to hold Patrick. My b-day was actually the last day I saw him. I spent the rest of my b-day with my older siblings and their families, it was a lot of fun. I stayed about a week in WA for my Grandpa's funneral and then rode back with my parents to CO.

Not much BIG went on after that, Jacob did play flag football, Patrick sat up, started crawling, cut teeth.

The other biggest thing to happen was at Thanksgiving. My mil has been on a kidney transplant waiting list for about two years now. Anyway, the day before we were flying to VA to spend Thanksgiving with them she got the call that her kidney was coming. My crazy husband scheduled us a butt crack of dawn flight, but we did end up being in VA by lunch, so still had a full day even with the loss of two hours. Well because we got there early he was able to be at the hospital waiting for her to come out of surgery. She also got to come home for the day before Thanksgiving. So we were very thankful this year, ecspecially to the military family in Pensacola, FL who lost a 32 year old man, but who shared life with a member of our family.

Ok, what else, our family has grown is growing, when we went to WA I found out my sister is expecting their third. In Dec my younger brother found out he is expecting his first, and other long lost relatives have been found.

Our first Christmas with Patrick was adorable. jacob was opening his pres at first, and then we wanted him to try, well he woud just look at Jacob like, well aren't you going to open it. Alex worked that morning, so Jacob had to be patient, again, like last year, but he did good. After that we went to my parents for dinner and more gifts, then Sean, TOni, her parent's and his best friend's parents and grandparents came for pie.

New years eve had a bit of excitement to it, Patrick decided to let it go out with a bang. We had an end table in his room for the month since we needed to make room for the Christmas tree. I had a little people nativity on it, and well he was supposed to be napping, but intsead tried to reach out of his crib and get it. He ended up doing a front flip out and broke the glass. I called 911 and we ended up taking him to the er, he was ok, and the little cut was gone less than a week later. Again Alex had to work that night, so the boys and I went to our friends and hung out.

The second week of the year the movers came to take our stuff away and deliver it to a storage place here in LA. the place seems to like it since no one can deliver it til Tues, 3 more days, woo hoo!!

We had an early b-day/going away party for Jacob at the AFA hockey game, the Falcons ended up losing because the refs played for the other team the entire 2nd period, but the kids and the parents still had a great time.

We left on Martin Luther King day and made it to Amarillo, on Tues we got to see an old friend of mine for Lakenheath that I cheered with and then stopped at my aunt and uncles in Arlington. WE then arrived in LA, very late. We put the cats in the kennel and we went to bed. We did find a house quickly that we have been in for about a week now, though the cats have been here for two.

Since we have moved in Patrick is saying mom :) he is 11 months old today. Jacob is homeschooling, we both enjoy it right now, he doesn't like when I yell and I don't like when he doesn't listen. WE are both working on that. he is also involved in scouts, bowling with the homeschool group, Sunday school, was just signed up for gymnastics, and will be signed up for baseball. I am going to my first OSC function on WEd, and hopefully will go to the mom meeting for the homeschool group. Alex is trying to get settled into work.

Well, that is the last 6 months plus a week in a nut shell, hope I didn't bore you :)

Christmas

Wow has it been a while since I have posted and I claimed that I would stay updated. Sorry about that.



Christmas was wonderful. Jacob was a Three King in the Catholic Children's Service on base. I made his and 4 other costumes. Will try and post photos later. Alex had to work Christmas morning, so we had to wait til 1 for him to get home. I was so busy finishing things up and Jacob was being an awesome big brother with Patrick, that it flew by. The boys had a blast opening gifts, well Jacob got to open for both of them. Even when we wanted Patrick to try he just looked at Jacob like well, open it for me :)



After that we had dinner at my parent's and then my brother, his wife, her parents, and my brother's best friend's parent's and his grandparents came over for pie. Sean, Toni, and I then played pass the phone with Sean and My older siblings. We all webt home very tired but very happy.



today we have been cleaning and playing with all our new toys :)

Some more catching up for the week.

Well, am putting off doing laundry so figured I would try to finish updating on the week :)

Wed we stayed home until gymnastics, which Jake is doing awesome at, even the events he used to be fearful on!! I am hoping LA offers to pay a portion of the class like CO and WA do for homeschool kids. We pay full here, but anyway thing that can help would be appreciated :)

Thurs I worked on Patrick's room, got his bumper pad and crib skirt done, working on the valance next. Will take pictures when it is all done :) Jacob also memorized the Cub Scout Promise, we are working on the law now :) He is so enthusiastic about Scouts, which I am happy about. We are also working on the Catholic religous medal for Tigers and Wolves. Not sure if I will have Alex work on the Protestant one with him, that is more up to him.

Yesterday I just cleaned up the garage to be able to fit one of the vehicles in there and cleaned up down here. REally need to get laundry done so we can pack :)

Today was a kind of busy day. Jacob has his last game, and we thought that I had to work. Alex and Jake forgot his glove so I rushed it to them on my way to work and when I got there, in the time I called to say I would be a few minutes late and 7 minutes later, our 9 was a no show, and then by time I got back from getting my icee and pop corn our 10 called to reschedule for 11, so I wasn't needed, I was there a total of 10 minutes :) But got paid for 30 to cover gas. Kind of bummed to not get the extra income, but am happy to have the extra family time. After Jake's game we just hung around the house and cleaned out the car, getting ready to do that laundry :) Maybe ;-)
